Template Pack + Blank Cards + Quality Red Lines
5 ready-to-copy templates, 3 blank cards, 3 general red lines + 5 lesson-specific ones, and an appendix on choosing tools.
What this note is
The first two lessons explained the formula and ran it once. This one does three things: turns the process into templates, gives you three cards you can print, and draws the lines you must not cross.
Templates are not for memorizing — they are for editing. Swap what is in 【】 for your own situation.
Five templates (copy and use)
Pick the one that fits your scenario, copy the whole block into the chat box, then replace what is in 【】 with your own content.
Template 1 · One-page task brief (use before starting)
I need to handle one real piece of work:
【Task】
What I ultimately want to get:
【Result】
Who will use it, and where:
【Audience / scenario】
First help me confirm: the most important purpose of this result, what it must contain, and what problems would be unacceptable.
If you are missing anything, ask me — one question at a time.Template 2 · Define this round (do not expect a final draft in one shot)
The final goal is:
【Final result】
But this round only completes:
【This round's small result】
The material I am providing is:
【Material】
This round does not cover:
【Scope boundary】
First restate your understanding of this round, then explain how you plan to do it.
Start after I confirm.Template 3 · Meeting minutes (get actions out of the discussion)
I want to turn the meeting notes below into an executable action list.
Audience: 【fill in】
Meeting goal: 【fill in】
Raw notes:
【paste】
Do not write the full minutes yet. First confirm what I need more:
A. Record the facts;
B. Pin down the decisions;
C. Assign the tasks;
D. Surface the open questions.
After I confirm, output in this structure: confirmed facts / decisions made / owners and deadlines / items to confirm.
Speculation during the discussion must not be written as a final decision.Template 4 · Long material (small sample first, then expand)
I want to turn a long piece of material into:
【Purpose and result】
The original content of this material is:
【Material】
For now, handle only:
【Scope, e.g. minutes 1–10 / chapter one / the first table】
The sample must let me see:
- what the original explicitly says;
- what I most need to remember;
- what AI added;
- where things may be missing or need verification.
Do not continue with the full text before I confirm the sample.Template 5 · Task breakdown (for when you are stuck)
Where I am stuck:
【Specific situation】
What I want to reach in the end:
【Result】
My materials, time, and constraints are:
【fill in】
First judge what I am missing: the goal, the materials, the sequence, the tool, or the acceptance criteria.
Ask one question at a time.
Once confirmed, give me only the next smallest action, the materials to prepare, and the done criteria.
Do not lay out a whole complex system first.These five cover the five most common of the 8 high-frequency scenarios. For the rest (content writing, close reading, data analysis), edit the same skeleton: role → task → context → format → constraints.
Three blank cards (print and fill in)
Fill card 1 before starting, card 2 in progress, card 3 before delivery.
Card 1 · My one-page task brief (before starting)
| What I want in the end | What this round completes | What material AI has | What counts as passing | What if it is not enough |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Card 2 · My multi-turn dialogue log (in progress)
| Round | What this round must produce | What material I gave | What AI did | How I judged it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Round 1: define the result | ||||
| Round 2: advance a small result | ||||
| Round 3: check and correct | ||||
| Round 4: expand or change direction |
Card 3 · My result acceptance card (before delivery)
| Check | Result | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Is this really the result I wanted | ||
| Did this round exceed its scope | ||
| Is any key material missing | ||
| Did I mistake inference for fact | ||
| Can I keep using or repeat it |
Full blank versions of these three cards are in the bundled prompt template pack (Word) — ready to print.
Quality red lines
Three general ones
- AI fabricates with total confidence: numbers, dates, names, cases, and citations must be verified by you. Complete does not mean correct.
- Confidential and sensitive information never goes in directly: de-identify first, or swap in simulated material. No client privacy, accounts, verification codes, or unauthorized files.
- The output is not the final draft: your name is on it and so is your responsibility. Run your own final pass before sending, submitting, or publishing.
Five lesson-specific ones
- Do not treat the formula as a spell: it is a skeleton that helps you think clearly, not a spell that produces good results the moment you recite it.
- Do not count dialogue rounds as progress: every round must correspond to one clear small result.
- Do not politicize tools and models: no claims like 'this model is the pride of the nation.' Discuss tools in terms of task, materials, permissions, stability, and actual results.
- Do not pass off simulations as cases: simulated material, course demos, and a single successful sample must not be written up as real client outcomes.
- Do not make the final decision for a person: AI can only assist judgment. It cannot take on business, financial, legal, medical, or publishing responsibility for you.
Red lines 4 and 5 are the easiest to overlook. Knowing the formula by heart does not mean you can use it, and many chat rounds do not mean anything is moving — the test is always what this round produced.
Closing
What you take away today is not a spell to memorize, but a formula you can apply again and again: role + task + context + format + constraints. Use it to make your request complete, then let AI work the task out round by round.
Appendix: choosing tools
| Tool type | Fits | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Conversational AI | Defining results, discussing approaches, organizing a local piece of material | Use the formula to state the task clearly; do not chase complicated prompts |
| AI that accepts file input | Long articles, transcripts, tables, and reports | Confirm file limits, privacy rules, and whether the result is complete first |
| Agent or workspace tools | Tasks that need file read/write, step-by-step execution, and reuse | Trial-run one low-risk real task before turning it into a Skill or workflow |
A reminder on ordering: think through the goal and the function before choosing a tool (the five things from lesson one). Switching tools will not make the same task simpler — saying it completely will.
Multi-Turn Dialogue + 3 Prompts Hands-On
The five-step order for multi-turn dialogue, the six questions that make one task clear, and three rounds of hands-on work on the main case — prompts A / B / C in copy-ready full text.
Assignment: Run One Real Task Through the Formula
One sentence stating the result, three rounds of dialogue records, one sentence of retrospective — all three required; missing one means it does not count.
